| The film focuses on the historical development of a very fertile idea: the atomization or successive approximation principle used in area and volume calculations. We emphasize especially (and get inspiration from) Archimedes' ideas on volume proportions described in "The Method" and how they were recovered and developed by the so called Galileo School in the period just before the advent of calculus. | |||||||||||||||
