| In this extract we hear how the roller coaster designer, Werner Stengel, uses cubic spline interpolation in the design of roller coaster like the famous nemesis at Alton Towers in the United Kingdom. Using views from the ride and some computer animation, we can see how this mathematical technique, often used in the road design, leads to a very smooth ride. | |||||||||||
